The Social Science Laboratory

The Social Science lab was a new venture into the history of NPS Chikabanavara. It was a momentous occasion for the department as it was inaugurated by our honourable CEO Mrs. Preethi Reddy and our beloved Principal Mrs. Mary Thomas.
The lab has been set up with the idea of making the subject more interesting. It caters to all the different branches of Social Science namely Political Science, History and Geography. A collection of items from these different areas were displayed for a glimpse into the World of Social Science.

The history section starts with the ancient World depicting the evolution of man to the discoveries and inventions of this period. The Medieval period displays the lives of great kings and kingdoms of India followed by the mighty Mughal period. Models of some of the great structures in India were displayed showcasing the wonderful architecture. The Modern World displays the pictures of some of the great freedom fighters and their contribution to the Indian history.

The Civics section displays information about our Constitution and its ideas and ideals.
The World of Geography is quite amazing with wonderful models of Rainwater harvesting methods, types of farming, the solar system, volcanoes, types of food, clothing, dance forms, festivals the Map of India and Karnataka etc.
Most of these items on display are the work of our students.

The Social science lab will act as an activity room for pupil- teachers as it will combine academic experience with worldwide knowledge, making learning effective, lively and fun. This lab will provide children various options to learn better and to increase their cognitive and co-operative learning. It will provide a platform for students to share their presentations.
