ORANGE A COLOUR OF JOY, WARMTH AND DETERMINATION!!

The ‘colour of the month’- Orange was celebrated on the 30th of July. Orange is a dynamic colour, it stimulates imagination and creativity. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. The students and teachers were dressed in different shades of orange for their virtual classes. The teachers of the pre-primary section celebrated Orange Day with the sole objective to acquaint the little ones with the concept of secondary colours and objects related to it.

Teachers of the higher grades related the colour to their subjects and conducted various activities during their class hours. There were discussions on oxidising properties of orange colour Potassium dichromate crystals., discussions about “POLYEMBRYONY” and “PARTHENOCARPY” in the orange fruit, the use of orange colour in webpages, graphical representation of production of oranges in the world, explanation about the importance of orange colour based on electromagnetic spectrum, quiz on the different shades of orange. A thorough understanding of the orange colour was given during the art class, as to how to procure the secondary colour-Orange by mixing two primary colours: red and yellow.

The energy and vibrancy of the orange colour was felt amongst the students. They participated with zeal and in the process they benefitted immensely.
