In remembrance of Major Dhyan Chand……..

The National Sports Day or Rashtriya Khel Diwas is marked as a very special occasion in India as we celebrate the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary on August 29 every year.However,this day is also an annual reminder of the need for sporting activities in life.

To mark the significance of this day the P.E teachers of National Public School, Chikkabanavara organised several activities throughout the week for students across all grades. The Sports Captain Master Shiva and Vice Sports Captain Master Naman conducted a special morning assembly wherein they spoke about the innumerable benefits of sports.

Students of different grades represented famous sports persons from different fields like Cricket, Taekwondo, Basketball,Badminton, Football, and Hockey. The objective of the display was to encourage our students to engage in various sporting activities which is integral for building self-esteem, confidence and social skills.
