“Indian Rhythms” by Mr. Akshay Ananthapadmanabhan.

Mr. Akshay Anantapadmanabhan, a young leading Carnatic artist based in India, completed his education and a Masters in Engineering in the United States and moved to India in 2012, to pursue music as a career. He has toured several parts of the world accompanying leading musicians on Mridangam as well as given percussion solo performances and workshops featuring Konnakol, Mridangam and Kanjira.

The workshop conducted by Mr. Akshay Anantapadmanabhan at NPS, Chikkabanavara, was an interactive session engaging students, blending Indian rhythms and Carnatic melodies. Students were encouraged to sing, recite rhythms and clap interesting time-signatures while being stimulated and challenged. The aim of this workshop was to create a holistic experience that encourages students to have a deeper understanding of Indian music.
