SPECTRUM OF EMOTIONS – A COLOURFUL JOURNEY THROUGH FEELINGS BEGINS 2026-27

“Every emotion adds a unique colour to life. When children learn to understand their feelings, they learn to understand themselves and others.”

On Wednesday, 1st July 2026, National Public School, Chikkabanavara proudly inaugurated Spectrum of Emotions, a unique Social-Emotional Learning initiative for students from Playgroup to Grade II. Designed to foster emotional awareness and well-being, the programme will continue throughout the academic year, with one emotion taking centre stage each month, represented by a vibrant colour that helps children recognise, understand and express their feelings in a meaningful way.
The inauguration was a spectacular celebration of colours as children from Playgroup, Nursery, KG I, KG II, Grade I and Grade II arrived dressed in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and brown, representing the complete spectrum of emotions. During the special assembly, each colour and its corresponding emotion was unveiled, introducing students to an exciting journey of emotional learning that will continue throughout the year.

The emotion chosen for the month of July is Yellow – Happiness, symbolising joy, optimism, kindness and gratitude. The campus came alive with cheerful smiles as studentsenthusiastically participated in happiness-themed songs, energetic games and engaging activities that encouraged them to celebrate positivity and spread happiness wherever they go.

The initiative beautifully highlighted that emotional well-being is just as important as academic growth. By creating opportunities for children to identify, understand and express their emotions, Spectrum of Emotions aims to nurture confident, compassionate, resilient and emotionally intelligent learners.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a meaningful year-long journey where every colour tells a story, every emotion is valued and every child is empowered to embrace their feelings with confidence, empathy and understanding.
