NPS, Chikkabanavara congratulates Rajvi Shivam of Grade X, who was selected to be a part of Times NIE Summer Training Programme 2025, an internship programme, initiated and specifically designed by The Times NIE as part of the celebrations marking the 40th milestone year of the Times of India’s Newspaper in Education (NIE) programme, to add a new dimension to education by promoting student journalism and fostering a deeper understanding of the newspaper industry. This unique initiative was aimed at providing students with hands-on experience in the field of journalism and media.
The 10 – day training workshop, held from April 9 to April 22, 2025, took place at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, Bangalore. During this enriching experience, participants were given the opportunity to work closely with the marketing and editorial teams of The Times of India. The programme included interactive sessions, a visit to a press facility and hands-on project work that enabled students to apply their learnings in a practical setting.
Upon successful completion of the internship, Rajvi Shivam was awarded a Letter of Recommendation by The Times of India, recognising her effort and involvement in the programme. The internship offered valuable insights into the various facets of the newspaper industry and highlighted the numerous career opportunities available in the field of journalism and media.
This initiative by The Times NIE has not only inspired students to explore journalism as a career but also encouraged them to think critically, work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students of various schools.
