The school observed National Sports Day themed ‘Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat’, with a special assembly to honour the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary “Wizard of Hockey” and an icon of Indian sports, emphasising the importance of fitness, discipline and sportsmanship.
The School Sports Captain, Nidhin Chacko Varghese of Grade XII, addressed the gathering with an insightful speech on the significance and purpose of National Sports Day. He highlighted how sports build character, unity and national pride.
Senior School Principal Ms. Priyanka Suresh and Junior School Principal Ms. Rajee Samjith graced the assembly. In their presence, the Sports Captain Nidhin Chacko Varghese and Sports Vice-Captain, Aarya Manjunath conducted an engaging quiz for students of Grades I to XII. Students participated with great enthusiasm and showcased their knowledge of Indian sports and athletes.
The special assembly concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to adopt active lifestyles. The oath also served as a reminder to respect India’s rich sporting heritage and to honour the contributions of athletes and coaches who bring glory to the nation.
The celebration inspired students to embrace sports as an integral part of daily life and to carry forward the spirit of Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.
