A Celebration of Leadership at NPS Ckbnr
The Investiture Ceremony of NPS Ckbnr for the Academic Year 2025–26 was held with grandeur and solemnity, marking the official appointment of the newly elected Student Council members. The event was a celebration of leadership and responsibility.
The Chief Guest for the occasion, Dr. D.V. Guruprasad, IPS Officer (Retd.) and former Director General of Police, graced the ceremony with his esteemed presence. He was formally welcomed by the school authorities and the School Band accorded him a grand reception, setting the tone for the prestigious event.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, joining the Chief Guest in this ceremony were Ms. Preethi Reddy (CEO), Ms. Priyanka Suresh (Senior School Principal), Ms. Rajee Samjith (Junior School Principal), and Lavanya Ramesh (President of the Student Council).
A detailed account of the Election process was presented by Ms. Priyanka Suresh (Chief Election Commissioner), who also handed over the formal election report to the CEO. A short video showcasing the nominations, campaigning, voting and announcement of results was screened, giving the audience a glimpse into the democratic spirit embraced by the school.
Addressing the audience, CEO Ms. Preethi Reddy congratulated the elected leaders and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with commitment, empathy and integrity. She urged the students to embrace the opportunity and strive to make a meaningful difference.
The Student Council members were embellished with ceremonial badges, sashes and house flags in the presence of the housemasters. The elected representatives then took the oath of office, administered by the Chief Election Commissioner and Senior School Principal, Ms. Priyanka Suresh.
In her address, she appreciated the support of the parents who attended the ceremony and encouraged the student leaders to uphold the legacy of their houses and fulfil their roles with sincerity and excellence.
The School Band delivered a rousing performance during the event, adding to the celebratory spirit.
Ms. Rajee Samjith, Junior School Principal extended her congratulations to the council members and formally introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering.
In his inspiring address, Dr. D.V. Guruprasad congratulated the students and lauded the school for conducting such a well-organised event. Sharing anecdotes from his own life, including his academic struggles and eventual success through perseverance and hard work, he urged the students to never give up in the face of setbacks. He emphasised that challenges should be met with focus and relentless effort. As a gesture of inspiration, he presented a copy of his book, “B.Sc Fail, IPS Pass”, to the CEO for the school library.
The event concluded with a speech by the newly appointed Student Council President, Lavanya Ramesh, who expressed her gratitude and outlined her vision as the leader of the council. She also delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the school management, teachers, parents and peers.
