HARMONY OF BODY, MIND AND SOUL: INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY AT SCHOOL 2026-27

The school organised a special assembly to commemorate International Yoga Day, themed ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, highlighting the importance of yoga as a powerful practice that nurtures physical fitness, mental peace and emotional well-being.
The assembly began with a warm welcome to the gathering, followed by the thought for the day and a brief presentation on the significance of yoga in our daily lives. Students spoke about the origin of yoga, its timeless relevance, and how it helps in building concentration, discipline, flexibility and inner balance.
The highlight of the assembly was a graceful yoga demonstration by the students, where they showcased different asanas and breathing techniques with confidence and coordination. Through their performance, the students beautifully depicted how yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and enhances overall well-being. The demonstration reflected the dedication, practice and discipline required to make yoga an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.
Our Senior School Principal, Ms. Priyanka Suresh, inspired everyone by emphasising how yoga has become India’s gift to the world. She also spoke about the grand yoga performance planned in Kolkata in 2027, urging students to see themselves as ambassadors of this ancient tradition. The Junior School Principal, Ms. Rajee Samjith, spoke about the holistic value of yoga for BMS — Body, Mind and Soul. She encouraged students to make yoga a daily habit for better focus and well-being.
The assembly concluded on a unifying note as the entire school took a pledge to integrate yoga into our lives for a healthier and more mindful tomorrow.
