ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025-26

From Saplings to Skit – A Day Dedicated to Our Planet Earth

The World Environment Day at NPS, Ckbnr was celebrated with a series of vibrant activities which aimed at spreading awareness and encouraging sustainable practices among students.
Students from the Primary grades participated in engaging classroom activities, where they joyfully coloured pictures of the Earth and oceans, learning the importance of protecting our planet in a fun and creative way.
Students from Grade VI to VIII showcased their commitment to sustainability by making paper bags from old newspapers, which were later distributed to nearby chemist shops—an initiative that promoted eco-friendly alternatives to plastic.
Taking it a step further, students of Grades IX and X explored traditional and natural alternatives to modern cutlery. They crafted plates, bowls, spoons and baskets using banana leaves and other natural materials. These beautiful, hand-crafted items were displayed during a special assembly, highlighting the creativity and environmental consciousness of the students.
As part of the event, the students planted saplings in the school garden, accompanied by the school’s CEO, Ms. Preethi Reddy, symbolising a commitment to nurturing a greener future.
A special assembly on Environment Day was held which included informative speeches by students about the significance of the day and this year’s theme. The assembly also featured a rap performance and a skit by Grade X students, both creatively emphasising environmental issues. The event concluded with flash mob by the students of Eirene House (Green House) from Grade X and a soulful song presented by the school choir.
Addressing the students, Junior School Principal, Ms Rajee Samjith emphasised the need to protect the environment and appreciated the students for their creative and impactful contributions.
