A TAPESTRY OF PRIDE – CELEBRATING INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE 2026-27

“Freedom is not merely a gift of the past; it is a responsibility we carry forward with pride, unity and hope”

On Wednesday, the 12th of August 2026, the junior school at National Public School, Chikkabanavara came together to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The celebration brought together students from Pre-Primary to Grade V for a memorable morning filled with music, dance, reflection and national pride.

The little learners of the Pre-Primary Wing added a special charm to the celebrations as they arrived dressed in white, beautifully complemented by tricolour accessories. Their bright smiles and patriotic spirit brought the colours of the nation to life.

The programme commenced with a heartfelt prayer for our country, India, followed by a warm welcome address by a student. The young performers then took centre stage with a vibrant dance performance by the students of KG I and KG II, followed by an inspiring special address by a teacher, which reflected on the significance of Independence Day and our responsibilities as citizens.

The patriotic spirit continued with a soulful patriotic song by the KG I and KG II students, followed by an energetic dance and patriotic song performance by Grades I and II. Students of Grades III to V further enriched the celebration with their lively dance presentation and a stirring patriotic song.

The gathering was also addressed by the Principal – Junior School, who shared meaningful thoughts on the values of freedom, responsibility, unity and love for the nation.

The day was a beautiful celebration of India’s freedom and the spirit of patriotism nurtured in our young learners. With little hearts filled with pride and minds inspired by the values of unity and responsibility, our students carried forward the true spirit of Independence Day, celebrating the nation and cherishing the freedom we are privileged to inherit.
