Learning to spell helps to cement the connection between letters and their sounds. The co-relation between spelling and reading comprehension is high because both depend on a common denominator, that is, proficiency in language. The more deeply and thoroughly a student knows a word, the more likely he or she is to recognize it, spell it, define it, and use it appropriately in speech and writing.  The SPELLBEE [Seniors] competition was held recently on the 16th and 17th June 2016. It was a keenly and closely contested competition. Students of Grade VI to X participated in the event. After the first round 16 children were shortlisted for the qualifying round from each category. Finally 8 children qualified for the final round. The final round was an audio-visual round. It was a nail biting finish. Air-vice Marshal, Ajith Kumar gave away awards to all the winners.
