SPORTS DAY REPORT (2016-17):
A sport is an integral part of the school curriculum. Sports involve the child physically and mentally and make him healthy and active. The third Annual sports meet of pre-primary was held on December 3-12-2016 (Saturday) in the R.R ground campus. The event started at 9.30 am sharp by welcoming our chief guest Mr. Raja Reddy and Dr. Sujith along with our respected Principal sir Mr. Rajesh Pillai and our Director Mrs. Preethi Reddy. Our little took blessings of God by singing invocation song. Later on, there was a March past by the children of pre-primary which was attractive. It was followed by the lighting of the torch by KG-1 and KG-2 children under the guidance of teachers.
The declaration of sports meet was made by Principal Sir. We had the Mont children with the dignitaries for the release of the balloons. All the pre-primary children were thrilled and excited to see the colourful balloons soaring in the sky.
Races for the three levels (Mont, KG-1, and KG2) were based on different themes.
Mont- Rhyme and Rhythm.
KG-1- Story (Mythology and fairy tales)
All races were well planned and organised and were made more attractive with colourful props based on the theme and music. KG-1 children show cased their talent through an aerobic performance. KG-2 children performed colourful drill using handmade flowers. Parent’s race was organised and along with that we had a Flash mob by 8th, 9th, and 10th grade children. The sports day was a grand success. There was a good feedback and appreciation from parents all the teachers. The credit of this success goes to whole NPS Chikkabanavara team. Hard work and great efforts about by our pre-primary children, teachers, P.T mam Mrs. Bharathi, and help staffs and a great support from our Co-ordinator Jaya mam contributed to the success of the sports day.
SPORTS DAY 2:
The programme on the second day started with the march past by the high school students. This was followed by the lighting of the games torch and the release of the scroll. The Principal Mr. Rajesh Pillai declared the meet open and conveyed the message of the Sports Meet 2016 –‘ Sweat it, Don’t quit, remember it, You are a champion, prove it’.
Parents were enthralled by the splendid synchronization and rhythmic movements exhibited by their wards while performing the drills, yoga and tae-kwon-do. It was an impetus for the audience to adhere to a healthy lifestyle. The zumba dance and the flash mob took the audience by surprise and left them speechless. The highlight of the programme was the finals of the different races which had the spectators on the edge of their seats. No one on the ground could hinder the excitement and joy as the Eirene House bagged the rolling trophy for the academic year 2016-17.
CHRISTMAS AND ENTERPRENEURSHIP:
The spirit of Christmas carnival was ushered in with the Market Day. The objective was to create awareness on innovation and leadership through entrepreneurial skills. They were motivated to present various ideas for generating interesting items which were put on sale on 23rd December. The young entrepreneurs sold various items like hand-made jewellery, potted plants, fancy mirrors, key holders etc. Students from the senior classes [IX & X] put up food stalls and game stalls which attracted the attention of one and all. The programme was a huge success and ended on a promising note that children will make the most of this experience in their future lives. This initiative was well supported by the school Management and the parents.
