1. Sense organs – Learning the five senses helps children to explore the world around them. The concept of the importance of the 5 sense organs was taught through a fun activity.
  2. Eyes – Children were shown different items which were of different colours. They were asked various questions like what if everything around us was white and not colourful? How and why we need to take care of our eyes.
  3. Ears – Students were asked to close their eyes and listen to the different types of sounds they could hear around them. Vocabulary words like noise, loud, soft, whisper were explained.
  4. Nose – Students were asked to close their eyes and teacher sprayed perfume. Children immediately could sense the smell and further discussion was done. Vocabulary words like fragrance, odor, pungent were explained.
  5. Tongue –various food items like sugar, salt, methi water and lime juice were given for the children to taste. They could identify the various tastes. Vocabulary words like sweet, salty, spicy, bitter were explained.
  6. Skin – the sense of touch was explained by giving them various items like cotton, stone, feather, sand paper, paper to touch and feel different textures.
