The school organized the much awaited Annual Sports Day for classes I to XII, on December 21st, 2018 in the school ground. The programme began with the welcome ceremony of the chief guest, Group Captain, Samson Peters, along with the Chairman, Mr. Raja Reddy, the CEO, Mrs. Preethi Reddy and the Principal, Mrs. Mary Thomas.
A melodious song was rendered by the school choir to pay salutations to the Lord Almighty followed by the hoisting of the school flag and the school song. The Sports Day was inaugurated by releasing balloons and beautifully decorated placard, bearing the school’s name and motto, by the chief guest, guests of honour and the Principal.
Following which the dignitaries took the salute of the impressive March Past, a highly competitive event where the four houses eyed for the first place. The oath taking ceremony, the lighting of the games torch followed by the band display were really captivating.
Then the much awaited track and field events started as the budding athletes of National Public School, ran for the finishing line, the school campus reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators. Many new records were made in 50 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters races.
Several other displays according to the classes such as May pole, Figure March, Aerobics, Yoga display, Human Pyramid, Umbrella Dance, showcased different types of skills and also received a considerable amount of appreciation from the audience.

Group Captain, Samson Peters, in his short speech inspired the students and concluded that, “Sports competitions are just as important as Maths and English and that competitive sport teaches essential life-skills”.
The day drew to a close with the National Anthem and the students departed with victorious smiles as Eirene House emerged as House Champions. It was a day filled with verve and sportsmanship and memories to cherish.
The Principal, Mrs. Mary Thomas, thanked all the teachers and parents for their co-operation and support and advised the students to keep up their sportsman spirit.
